Final Tally!

Thanks to everyone that helped to make this event possible this year! It appears that we collected about $800-$1000 worth of toys for the children. We appreciate all our customers, friends, family members, and dealers that helped donate or pickup toys for the Toy-Drive.

Here is a photo of the load of stuff that we dropped off for these children:

Deadbolt Enterprises has acquired a list of 45 local children that might not have very much under their Christmas Tree this year. Although their homes are overflowing with love, unfortunately, this year has been hard for MANY parents. No child should miss out on opening up a cool toy on Christmas, so we decided to help out.

Currently there are 31 girls and 14 boys locally who's parents could use a little help this holiday season to give their child a great Christmas season. We are accepting, and in many cases, picking up (locally and in the Atlanta area) new, unwrapped toys for these children.

Help make a child smile this year, all donations are accepted, please make sure the toys are SAFE.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT NONE OF THE TOYS ARE TAGGED, PLEASE DO NOT WRITE YOUR NAME, A COMPANY NAME, OR ANYTHING ON IT. THIS MUST REMAIN ANONYMOUS SO THAT THE CHILDREN DO NOT REALIZE THE SOURCE OF THE GIFTS!

If you are not local to us, or in the Atlanta area, consider finding a local charity near you. Every kid should get something over the holidays, no matter what holiday it is that you observe.

Newest Update! - 11-23-05

We just received this email a little while ago:

"Thank you for all your efforts in providing toys for children for Christmas. It would be nice if I could have the toys by Monday, December 19th, but, I would be willing to work on distribution of toys up to and through Friday, December 23rd.

Since I last talked to you, I have had a special request. A mother and her two children have come here from a shelter in Haywood County. The mother says her son who turned 7 in July 2005 really wants a bicycle and her little girl who will turn 2 in February 2006 would like a tricycle. She is very anxious about whether or not this request can be met. If not she will understand and will try to make contact with another group or agency that can help. Please let me know what you think so I can relay to her whether or not she needs to seek assistance elsewhere."

This means that we will need to get toys here no later than the 18th if possible. If anyone can help with the two children above, please let us know by using the email link above.

Atlanta Pickup

We will be coming to Atlanta the weekend of December 16th to pickup from our suppliers down there. We will update this thread with pickup location and times when we have that sorted out.
