But once you move around to the front you see the problems:

The first couple of hours of work on the car were very productive!

All parts are from Prestige Subaru - 888-854-4293.  If you are thinking about doing a front-end swap like this, get in touch with them, they have all the prices and parts lists you will need to make the swap go quickly and easily!

Back from the frame shop!  Another 4 hours work and we had this:

More work!  We removed the mangled crossmember and control arms:

And replaced them with a new WRX crossmember and forged alloy control arms from Prestige Motorsports:

We also did the coloring-in of the radiator support and other structural sheet metal we had to replace:

Its starting to come together!  We should be taking it for painting of the outside panels within a couple of weeks!  Check back for more updates!

Just got a delivery from our Painter!!!

Thanks very very much to Harry's Body and Fender in Asheville, NC for doing such a nice job!

Next we have to get it recertified by the NC-DMV, then it is time for the cage!!!

More progress!

Today we put the stock engine and transmission back in and totally assembled the front end.  We are now ready to have the DMV come out to inspect the car and give us a title!!!

This is an invaluable thing to have: Underhood dimensions for the rebuild.  Make sure everything is square and the car will go back together MUCH easier.

Update!  The car passed the DMV's final rebuild inspection with flying colors today!

Interior and sound deadening are out!  Just waiting on the roll-cage tubing to arrive!!!

Two steps forward, one step back.

To start further fabrication, and lighten the car for easier movement while working, we removed the front clip again, as well as the stock engine and transmission that had been placed back in temporarily.

We got word from a local shop that they are going to be making some custom delrin (acetyl) bushings for this monster.  that was a nice surprise!
