The Competition is getting desperate!

For over two years our customers have been sending us emails, online messages, and give us details on the phone regarding communications with some of our competition.  Some of the things that they have been telling people are beyond belief, yet extraordinarily funny!  In many of the cases the accusations are so out of the realm of reality that it makes us laugh on a daily basis.

Most recently one of our competitors has begun telling the following story:

We have been doing this for many years now, ...the cartridges that Deadbolt Enterprises uses are notorious for exploding under boost.

This is one of the stories that we find almost too ridiculous for the waste of a reply.  It should also be pointed out that this statement was from a company that attempted to fake a flow-chart of a T67 for a 16G equivalent turbo.  They also told one of our customers that they run their turbos at 150,000 RPM's for two straight weeks to test them.  Upon being questioned to provide pictures as evidence they were unable to show any type of proof.  MORE OF THIS COMPANY'S LIES EXPOSED HERE:

UPDATE:  The above referenced company went out of business within 3 months.

Another of our competitors has told many customers that:

Deadbolt doesn't even actually sell these turbos new, all their stuff is rebuilt.

Considering that we have built over 1000 Subaru-fitment turbos now how would it be possible to find that many Subaru specific turbos in used condition not to mention 18G and 20G wheels?  Most vendors hope that Subaru owners do not realize the differences in the Subaru turbo and the more common Mitsubishi turbo.

This competitor is actually one of the most misleading of all our competitors, their other statements to customers include:

Deadbolt Enterprises ports their stuff too much, anything more than just port matching the inlet to the turbine housing disturbs the airflow.

This is the same competitor that port matches only the inlet, then carves a large swath into the turbine inlet to direct air towards the wastegate.  Apparently unlike our machinists, they have not been able to figure out how to machine the housing properly to allow the wastegate to work properly.  Instead, they cause significant restriction and turbulence at the turbine housing inlet just to allow their improper housing to vent boost.

Deadbolt Makes a big deal about sending the correct coolant supply lines with their Subaru turbos.  These are really not even needed, you don't even need to attach the coolant lines to the turbo.

This is a good story coming from a company that did not realize until we were open for over a year that the Subaru cartridge was different than the traditional Mitsubishi cartridge.  After they realized this, and also realized that they could not buy the coolant line sets, they began telling customers not to run coolant lines.  This is very dangerous to the turbo!  Not only do non-water-cooled turbos run at higher cartridge temperatures, by using a water cooled turbo without coolant, you create a large insulator around the cartridge.  This actually creates even higher cartridge temperatures than normal and will cause premature failure.

Be careful of Deadbolt Enterprises, they ceramic coat the inside of their housings.  If the coating flakes off, it will pass through the turbine blades and destroy the turbo.

This one is VERY funny.  Before we began coating our turbos we saw two turbos from our competitor that were thermal coated inside and out.  Not only does this create clearance problems between the housing and the wheel, we actually had both of those units show turbine wheel damage due to coatings lifting off.  Over two years ago we stated this on our site as well as many of the online message boards where we participate.  We stated at that time that we would not offer internal coatings.

Probably the most hilarious, and the most desperate came when someone hacked our database, made up a phony sound-alike email address and sent the following email to all of our dealers:

Forwarded email sent to us from one of our dealers that he received from deadboltent@aol.com:

It is with a sad heart that i inform you that Dead Bolt Enterprises will be closing its doors at the end of this month. We can not handle the work orders that we are getting so we are going to be handing over all business contacts to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Please forward all of your future orders to them. Their email address is XXXXXXXXXXXX, phone number XXXXXXXXXXX and fax number is XXXXXXXXX. After today we will no longer be accepting future orders.

J. Hagen
Dead Bolt Enterprises

They were smart enough to get past our firewall, yet not smart enough to correctly spell the company name (Dead Bolt instead of Deadbolt.)  We actually have this one printed off and hanging on the wall for a daily chuckle.

This was just emailed to us:
"Just saw the new desperation page hilarious!  You forgot a big one though, when I ordered my 18G from ** they told me that it was a TD06H-20G.  I didn't think it looked right when I got it and when you looked at it at the dealership that day you confirmed that it was a TD05H instead.  They have still refused to refund me the money, send me another turbo, or even discuss the matter."

We will attempt to update this page whenever we hear more new stories.  If you have one, please email us at deadboltenterprises@charter.net

Pretty soon we expect that many of our competitors will be attempting to blame such things as low-home-resale value, erectile dysfunction, and eating disorders on our turbos!

I am writing you to seek sponsorship. My car is extremely fast and I am a great driver. If you will upgrade my VF series twinscroll for free I will run your stickers on the car. If you choose not to do this I will post on the internet that you have bad service and that you would not work on my turbo properly.
